Dental Implants – The Treatment of Choice for Replacing Missing or Damaged Teeth – Performed By a Board Certified Specialist

We change lives and smiles everyday. Your smile is a major part of your first impressions in everyday social gatherings. Missing or damaged teeth can cause trouble with speaking clearly and is often the source of feelings of embarrassment or social inadequacy. We can help you gain your confidence back through dental implants.

A comprehensive analysis will be done to see if you are a candidate for dental implants. Diagnostic X-rays will be taken to evaluate if your implants will require any bone grafting techniques. If you have any medical health condition, Dr. Paris will communicate with your personal physician to ensure that the surgery is done as safely as possible.

Most treatment can be performed in our office. However, if your medical condition places you at a higher risk of surgery, Dr. Paris can perform the procedures at our hospital location.

Dr. Paris is one of only a few surgeons who is both qualified to replace implants and restore implants, and has over 15 years of experience doing so.

Dr. Paris serves patients from Arlington, Dallas, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Kennedale, Irving, Grand Prairie, Hurst, Bedford and other DFW neighboring communities.

What are Dental Implants?

Dental implants are similar to the structure of a real tooth. A tooth consists of a root and a crown. Dental implants utilizes this same pattern by using small titanium scews that are inserted into the jaw, on which an artificial tooth can be placed. The screw acts as an achor in the jaw bone, similar to a tooth's root. This anchor approach to tooth replacement most closley mimics the mouth's natural tooth structure.

Most people are candidates for dental implants. However, complications or infections can delay the procedure. For a better understanding of how dental implants work, please watch the video to the right. Many of your questions and concerns will be addressed in the video.

Bone Grafting

One initial challenge with dental implants lies in the jaw bone structure. If the patient has missing teeth, the jaw bone will typically atrophy or recede over time. The creates a poor environment for dental implants, as there may be insufficient bone where the old tooth once was. Bone grafting provides the opportunity to regenerate the missing or reduced bone structure and rebuild the bone platform necessary for dental implants.

The bone is either taken from a tissue bank or from the jaw, hip or tibia. Bone grafts may also be performed to repair defects of the jaw as a result of traumatic injury, tumor surgery or natural defects.
